Access: Getting and Giving

Consortium members are committed to providing low-cost access
to computer technology to those in our community. The following
organizations are involved in recycling and refurbishing efforts.

Industries of the Greater Merrimack Valley |
Goodwill
is designated by the state to accept computer workstations
and monitors, which are considered hazardous waste.
They will charge a $10 fee for drop off. Goodwill also
provides low-cost workstations for the home ($80-$200) at

Pathfinders

Pathfinders
/ Milestone currently has VISTA volunteers dedicated to refurbishing
older PCs. In addition to creating useable workstations
for themselves, their clients, and other Consortium members,
they have opportunities to learn about PC support and maintenance.

UTEC

UTEC
runs a "Take Technology Home" program where families
(1 adult and 1 youth) participate in a 10-12 week basic computer
training and support class. At the end of the class,
each family takes home a computer. For more information
