![]() DescriptionLowell Telecommunications Corporation (LTC) is a private, non-profit, community technology center serving Lowell, Massachusetts. LTC provides access to training and equipment for individuals and organizations to become producers of content from various platforms including radio, television, computer, Internet, and satellite technologies. Training is provided in media arts and literacy as a responsible complement to technical proficiency. LTC serves over 1000 individual members and 100 social service and arts organizations. Resources
Software· MS Office Special· CD burners · video cameras · TV studio · lighting equipment · municipal and community access television and radio stations TrainingLTC offers quarterly training opportunities in media production techniques. Classes offer basic instruction in computer and video/television as well as intermediate offerings in web design, multimedia production, digital imaging and manipulation. FeesLTC is a member-based organization. Individual memberships range from $20 to $45 per year and group memberships range from $60 to $250 per year. All individuals must live and/or work in Lowell, sign up for an individual interview, and attend an orientation. All equipment use is free on a first-come, first-serve basis and each class is assessed a $10 materials fee. Future PlansLTC hopes to offer more intermediate level classes (especially in the digital realm), move into an expanded facility, and work more collaboratively with organizations on digital media projects. |
